Julie Crockett is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at BYU. Julie teaches courses in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. She has two main research areas in which she involves multiple graduate and undergraduate students. One area is focused on environmental flows, which are often characterized by fluids of differing densities. Julie is also performing research on the fundamentals of heat transfer through and flow dynamics over micro-structured surfaces which have the capability of reducing friction drag, termed superhydrophobic surfaces.
