Roni Jo Draper is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education in the McKay School of Education at BYU. She teaches courses in literacy and multicultural education for people preparing to be middle and high school teachers. Roni Jo’s scholarship focuses on how to prepare teachers to support the literacy development of children and youth in disciplinary settings (e.g., mathematics, science, and the arts). She is also interested in how to prepare teachers to create safe and affirming spaces in schools so that all young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
